Etienne Tarnowski

Experimental Test Pilot at Airbus He has joined Airbus in 1982 as Test Pilot and has been in charge of the definition, design and development of the A310/A FMS, of the A320 avionics, has coordinated as project pilot the overall operational definition of the A330 and A340 models, has defined the Airbus Cockpit philosophy as well as Training policy. He also has assumed various management positions as Senior Director Airbus Training Policy, Chairman of the Airbus Human Factors Group (HFOG) and Vice President Engineering Operations.

He was qualified as Experimental Test Pilot, and Flight Test engineer in the French Air Force test pilot school, EPNER, in 1976. He holds a Test Pilot license, a Flight Test Engineer license, and an Airline Pilot License; he is a Type Rating Instructor (TRI), Type Rating Examiner (TRE) and Supervisor (S-TRE).

He has logged over 13,500 test flying hours and has flown as Commander the maiden flight of the A330.

1967 graduate of the French Air Force Academy
